Sixhand Painting Group, Germany, Italy, USA 2000 - present
Founding member artist sixhandpainting.
Part of collaborative international artists’ group. Worked with Eckhard Zylla, Reiner Gramlich to create and exhibit collaborative paintings as a single body of work.
Organized workshops and instructional programs designed to promote growth and experimentation within one’s own art practice through collaboration with other artists.
These workshops are often done in conjunction with an exhibition of the Sixhand painting group, as a means of demonstrating the possibilities and benefits of collaborative work.
The New York paintings are marked by Manning’s return to the New York area. At this time he also began his ongoing collaboration with German artists Eckhard Zylla and Reiner Gramlich. The group, known as Sixhand Painting, creates collaborative abstract paintings which are exhibited as one body of work. Manning’s approach to his own work has been greatly influenced by this collaboration. He sees this as an important transformative stage in his career.
